Part Time Research Assistant

The Montague lab at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute in Roanoke, VA is seeking a part time Research Assistant. The Montague lab focuses on computational neuroscience. Approaches to this research include theoretical, computational, and experimental with focus on neuroeconomics.

The successful candidate should be detail oriented, enjoy a fast-paced research environment, and have some prior experience in a lab setting. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with a diverse population. Knowledge in basic computer skills, record keeping and experience with data collection is required.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate in lab meetings and organized and analyze data related to neuroeconomic decision-making, market analysis, and social exchange.

Required Qualifications

• Prior research experience
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and team skills
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to organize and analyze experimental data
• Demonstrated computer skills and experience using Microsoft applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or degree in business economics, neuroscience, psychology or another related field
• Demonstrated analysis experience in a neuroscience or statistical environment
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Desire to succeed in a fast-paced research environment with multiple duties
