Description
The Department of Art History at the University of Chicago invites applications for part-time Lecturers to teach during the 2024-25 academic year.
The selected candidate will have part-time teaching opportunities in Art History and/or Architectural Studies. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching courses, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials. Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year.
The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the University and Service Employees International Union. The per-course salary for academic year 2024-25 will be at least $7,538. This position is not benefits eligible.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Art History or a related discipline; a Ph.D. is strongly preferred. Prior experience teaching art history at the college level is preferred.
