Job Summary:
Registers patients being admitted to the Geropsychiatric Outpatient (Erlanger Active Senior Enrichment) Program. Performs assigned secretarial/clerical duties and provides administrative assistance to the multi-disciplinary team. Floats to other areas to assist with registration/clerical duties as assigned.

Education:
Preferred: High School graduate or GED.

Experience:
Required: Computer proficiency and experience with medical terminology.

Preferred: One-year previous health care experience in registration or related field. Experience in Behavioral health, preferably geriatrics.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward. De-escalation training certification in recognizing, reducing, and managing violent and aggressive behavior (example: CPI or MOAB Training) must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained ongoing thereafter.

Department Position Summary:
To register patients being admitted to Geropsychiatric Outpatient (Erlanger Active Senior Enrichment) Program and other departments as assigned. Collects deductible and co-pay when applicable. Monitors all patient charts for accuracy in demographics, as well as insurance information. Completes Medicare Questionnaire when applicable. Presents Letter from Medicare to all Medicare recipients being admitted for Inpatient services. Ensures privacy of patients are maintained according to HIPAA guidelines, also presenting our privacy guidelines to each patient. Assists with other duties as assigned by the Ultragroup program director and/or EWCH leadership.

Follow guidelines for informing patients of their Patient Rights and Responsibilities, explaining the authorization for treatment and authorization to file their insurance. Performs clerical duties and provides clinical staff information as required. Assists in tracking of patients and answers telephone. An important part of this position is keeping clinical staff informed of patient flow and keeping family informed along with maintaining security and traffic control.
