Job Title: Payroll Analyst Lead Tampa, FL Remote Work Contract Length: 12+ months

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and executes payroll processing including in-bound and out-bound interfaces to ensure accurate and timely pay checks.
  • Trouble shoots system problems discovered in the payroll processing to aid other payroll personnel.
  • Responsible for maintaining the documentation on the payroll/labor distribution process and other special process.
  • Serve as security administrator for the HR and Payroll.
  • Responsible for annual reporting on financial publications, and other federal and state regulatory reporting.
  • Supports payroll projects initiatives and compliance. Works with IT analysts to test and implement resolutions, maintains system setups, enhancements and configuration to meet changing policy and legislative requirements.
  • Prepares comparable financial reports; the preparation of annual payroll budgets for tax and vacation liability; the preparation of financial forecasts; and support the preparation of the Energy Business Plan.
  • Participate or implement in the research, interpretation, implementation of payroll/tax compliance issues and recommend solutions to accounting issues as they arise.

Additional Primary Duties And Responsibilities (In addition to previous level):
  • Provides guidance to payroll processor and specialist role during payroll activities.
  • Develop specification for testing the system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Responsible for the configuration of BSI tax administration to ensure accurate tax withholdings.
  • Works with IT analysts to troubleshoots systems; uses understanding of system setup, interdependencies of data flow to track down problems.

Relationships:
  • Key Internal: Establishes working relationships with all levels of employees within the company.
  • Provide solutions and interpretation to HR Generalists, payroll personnel and other HR team members.
  • Work with IT, HRIS, accounting, and corporate tax departments on a frequent basis to ensure validation and compliance.
  • Key External: Maintain relationships with Service provider, system programmers, attorneys, consultants, and auditors.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Preferred: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), or PHR (Professional in Human Resources)

Experience:
  • Required: Minimum of 7 - 8 years of experience in related environment, including project management experience, preferably in payroll and/or Human Resources related area.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP Payroll Module.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of payroll tax filing requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Required: Must have extensive knowledge of systems methodology and analysis techniques to design computer applications/programs and understand terminology to develop solutions, enhancements, while applying rules and regulations based on business need/requirements.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Preferred: Payroll/HR system coordination or Project management experience.
