Summary

Position Highlights:

The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst Lead is responsible for application implementation, design, development, installation, and support of the revenue cycle applications utilized across the enterprise. This position provides a level of expertise to revenue cycle systems analysts regarding the Soarian Financials and 3rd party applications associated with revenue cycle in terms of design and build decisions. Position has frequent direct contact with management for budget planning and monitoring, project management, status reporting, analysis for project direction, staff development, systems development, and problem resolution. Lead Revenue Cycle Systems Analysts are expected to show a high degree of integration and in-depth knowledge in their chosen expertise.

The Analyst Lead utilizes best practices throughout the project lifecycle and provides expert knowledge of system development methodologies and documentation. Documentation includes project request forms, project plans, status reports, process flow diagrams, functional requirement specs, technical design documents, test plans and others as needed.

Ideal Candidate:


  • Master's Degree in Information Technology or healthcare/business related discipline (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Medical Informatics)

  • Relevant experience in a healthcare IT environment

  • Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) formats

  • Experience with JavaScript or other scripting languages

  • Experience with ASP.NET and XML

  • Experience with SQL, stored procedures, and database triggers on Oracle and SQL Server platforms

  • Experience with SSIS packages, MS Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and other reporting tools

  • Demonstrated understanding of Information Security practices



Responsibilities:

Lead role in the design, development, testing, and implementation of custom or vendor supplied systems software


  • Conceptualizes logic for all new system design and development

  • Provides technical direction and guidance during to team members, consultants and vendors as required



Performs system assessments, process analysis, and requirements definition


  • Assures that application designs are consistent with industry best practices including scalability, availability, maintainability, and flexibility

  • Identifies and documents system requirements and use cases

  • Design and oversee development of application interfaces as per business requirements software using vendor provided or non-vendor provided, tools such as reports, screen design, and interface definitions



Performs software installations, configurations, and customizations


  • Develops, customizes, or configures software to meet specifications

  • Provides expertise and product knowledge to install, configure, and support application systems

  • Develops comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Executes detailed test cases to minimize negative impact on customers

  • Performs post-implementation support of new or upgraded systems



Resolves issues and performs root cause analysis


  • Provides expertise in problem determination, evaluation, and solution

  • Updates project, incident, and change tracking systems



Documents systems policies, procedures, and training materials


  • Develops of system documentation and procedures



Credential and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or healthcare/business related discipline (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Medical Informatics)

  • Minimum six (6) years system development, implementation, and system support for one or more of the following revenue cycle functions required: Patient Accounting, Patient Access, Charge Capture or Patient Financial Services at both the functional and technical layers

    • OR Associates degree with an additional two (2) years of work experience as stated above (for a total of eight (8) years) may be considered "in lieu" of a Bachelors degree


  • Advanced experience with Cerner Soarian Financials, Soarian Document Management, Cerner Physician Revenue Management, ePremise, WayStar or other Healthcare Financial Services systems
