Overview

Under general direction of the Chief Accounting Officer, the Payroll Director ensures the efficient and effective operations of the organization's payroll function in a multi-location, multi-state, multi-entity environment and international location(s) which includes exempt, non-exempt, and union employees with varying payroll cycles. This position helps supervise a decentralized group of site payroll specialists, inclusive all divisions and entities.

This role will pay a wage of $170,000 to $180,000.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership for payroll operations that supports the company's decentralized structure and global objectives.
    • Manage a team of payroll professionals and provide customer service and support to venue facilities located across the country.
    • Monitor and review payroll transactions, including salary changes, tax withholdings, and deductions. Resolve any pay discrepancies or payroll issues.
    • Update individual payrolls as stipulated by management, such as tax deductions or salary adjustments.
    • Strong knowledge and recent experience with ADP Enterprise V6 Payroll System is required.
    • Will oversee, supervise, and determine changes necessary for optimal process flow.
    • Maintaining payroll systems implementing best practices to improve processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ensuring all payroll systems comply with federal tax laws.
    • Ensure compliance with all payroll-related legal requirements.
    • Create state and federal withholding accounts on behalf of the company, as necessary, to ensure proper quarterly/annual filings.
    • Create monthly and annual payroll reports for management review.
    • Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices for the company.
    • Process manual checks when needed for individuals.
    • Monitors changes and remains current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters, 401(k) and other benefit deductions).
    • Oversees the preparation of required reports or payments to government agencies, insurance companies, or other organizations.
    • Uses Time & Attendance system setup and time reporting; performing audits as needed.
    • Implements, develops, and oversees the payroll processing activities for the payroll department, which includes work allocation, problem resolution and training.
    • Attends to any payroll-related queries or questions from employees.
    • Create and audit reports required by local Collective Bargaining Agreements.
    • Manages ADP payroll setup of new entities and pay groups.
    • Assist in developing audit tools to clean up data while protecting the data integrity of the ADP EV6 Payroll System
    • Assist in documenting all payroll processes and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, human resource management, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payroll management with track record of success in overseeing decentralized payroll operations in the global environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll software.
  • Familiarity with labor legislation and multi-state federal tax laws.
  • The ability to work ethically with employee-sensitive information.
  • Solid knowledge of data entry management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Thorough knowledge & understanding of ADP Enterprise Payroll & ADP eTime
  • Proficient in Windows environment with strong Excel skills
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented
