This position is located in the Division of Facilities Development (DFD), Bureau of Architecture and Engineering. This position will work remotely from the selected candidate's home location. This position requires independent statewide travel throughout Wisconsin to remote locations and onsite meetings on a regular basis.

Position Summary

The Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering Project Manager is responsible for providing efficient enterprise Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering services to stakeholders including agencies, contractors and consultants for a wide range of plumbing and fire protection systems including water based, precaution and chemical fire protection systems, domestic hot/cold/soft water systems and equipment, sanitary waste and vent systems, clearwater waste and storm water systems, medical gas, laboratory gas and vacuum systems and pure water (RO/DI) systems.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (81-30) with a salary between $96,678 and $118,456. A $1.00 per hour add-on may be provided to those that qualify based on DSPS engineering registration. A 12 month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have training or experience in:
  1. Project management (e.g. management of budget, scope, and schedule of projects, or similar)
  2. Plumbing and fire protection system(s) design (including building systems and codes and construction)
  3. Architecture and/or engineering design review and analysis (e.g. evaluation of system design, or similar)

In addition, well qualified applicants may have:
  • One of the following: WI registration as a Professional Engineer, Designer of Engineering Systems-Fire Protection, Designer of Engineering Systems-Plumbing, Licensed as a Master Plumber in Wisconsin
  • Experience in construction document management (e.g. developing, editing, reviewing, maintaining, or similar)
  • Experience managing architect/engineer and construction contracts
