Civil and Environmental Engineering

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis and modeling on transportation/traffic data.

• Perform contracted research.

• Assist in supervision of graduate research assistants on research projects.

• Assist in development of research proposals.

• Assist in writing research reports and periodical project reports.

• Assist, occasionally, in course sessions.

• Develop and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.

• Assist in communication with sponsors.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• A PhD with emphasis on traffic and transportation engineering, or in a related field, completed within the last 2 years and before starting of appointment.

• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Lead authorship of papers in peer-reviewed journal

• Strong capabilities in data science/statistics based data analysis and visualization

• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams.

• Strong background in preparing/delivering impromptu project presentation

• Programming languages: Python, C, C++, Matlab/Simulink

• Demonstrated experience with PowerBI type of dashboard development

• Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
