The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL)
Responsibilities
- Designing, fabricating, and testing cryogenic preamplifiers.
- Integrating preamplifiers into dedicated probes and optimizing these probes for specific experimental techniques, e.g., ultrasound, specific heat, capacitance spectroscopy, and shot noise.
- Performing pilot tests and utilizing the completed probes in collaborative experiments with NHMFL internal and external users requiring improved signal-to-noise ratios.
- Presenting research results at conferences, seminars, and workshops and contributing to scholarly publications.
Qualifications
The position requires a Ph.D. in Physics, or Electrical Engineering. Must have experience with circuit design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Various CAD and/or data analysis software.
- Cryogenic techniques and instrumentation, magnetic fields, or experimental physics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
