Precast CAD Designer

The Precast CAD Designer will be in charge of: detailing less-complex, small to medium size pre-cast projects based on contract drawings issued by a general contractor or an owner, or based on a combination of preliminary Value Engineered drawings prepared by Tindall sales team. As well as preparing erection drawings and piece fabrication drawings using 3-D modeling software under the supervision of the Design Engineer.

Daily:

1. Read contract drawings and specifications

2. Prepare a list of items that needs to be verified by the Salesman, Estimator, Project Manager, or General Contractor

3. Attend Client Turnover Meeting (CTO) or attend early in-house kick-off meeting

4. Analyze, project, and prepare a time management plan for completion dates

5. Coordinate Shop Card issuing sequence with Production Planning

6. Prepare a project binder for project related documents

7. Prepare and issue all material orders to support project schedule

8. Prepare, receive, maintain, and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) and emails

9. Converse via email, telephone, or in person General Contractor, Project Architect, and Project Engineer, and issue an email what was discussed after each conversation

10. Issue Erection Drawings and Details to the General Contractor or Owner "For Approval" and "For Construction"

11. Confer with Designer about steel and/or shop cards detailing progress

12. Provide guidance to Designer about company standards for modeling and detailing

13. Detail Steel Card(s) and Shop Cards when required by schedule

14. Receive, approved or revise & resubmit drawings from the General Contractor or Owner and notify project management when marked changes should result in a change of order

15. Direct [MW1]Designers on what to detail, such as Shop Cards, and check the work of detailers on the job

16. Work closely with Production regarding conforming restraints

17. Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

* Associates in drafting, CAD, modeling, or other related field

* 5+ years of experience drafting structures (parking garages, apartment buildings, warehouses, etc.)

Extensive experience in: Revit, Solidworks, and/or any BIM software
- Experience in precast modeling/drafting (specifically with precast concrete)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Allplan
- Bachelors degree
- More than 5 years of experience in precast modeling/drafting
