Po sition Summary: This position is accountable for supporting the program’s CHILD FIND responsibilities through records from outside agencies, through screenings completed by AIUEA staff, the program’s obligation to support families who have children transitioning from Infant/Toddler programming to Preschool Early Intervention programming, and/or other parent/guardian referrals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. When assigned to Infant/Toddler transition duties, plans and conducts transition meetings with

families/guardians and Infant/Toddler staff and reviews and updates transition packets received from

the Infant/Toddler providers to ensure that all the information needed to implement the transition

process is current and accurate .

2. When assigned to On Records duties, reviews prior records (e.g., screenings completed by other

agencies or other AIU departments, outside evaluations, Evaluation Reports and/or IEPs from other

states or PA agencies).

3. When assigned to Screening, manages all aspects of developmental screenings (scheduling, training,

point of contact for AIUEA members on day of screening, etc.).

4. When assigned to other parent/guardian referrals with previous Infant/Toddler services, reviews prior

records and/or outside evaluations and proceeds accordingly.

5. When assigned to Family Services, manages referrals from family-serving agencies (e.g., Head Start,

Pre-K counts, Child Welfare programs, homeless shelters and ELRC) reviews records and/or outside

evaluations and proceeds accordingly.

6. When assigned to Family Services, determines who may act as parent regarding signing for

educational documents in the absence of birth parents for foster children and others who may be

referred/serves as point of contact for Kids Voice/ CYF or other social service programs to share

requested records and ensure continuity of services.

7. When assigned to Family Services, provides community and interagency information and resources to

staff and procure supports /resources for families.

8. Coordinates the paperwork of families who previously received Preschool Early Intervention services

and must be reactivated in the statewide database.

9. Assigns intake evaluations to AIUEA staff members.

10. Ensures that Evaluation Reports are completed and provided to parents, and that IEP meetings are

scheduled and all necessary documentation are prepared and implemented within timelines in order

that the program complies with state and federal regulations.

11. When assigned to Family Services, coordinates Head Start and Pre K Counts articulation screenings.

12. Serves as Preschool EI representative at IEP meetings to ensure compliance with state and federal

laws and regulations in meeting the needs of new and continuing students. Facilitates meetings with

parents and community agencies as indicated and provides ongoing support as needed.

13. Facilitates Kindergarten transition meetings with parents and district representatives to assist in the

systematic transition of students into school age settings.

14. Plans, coordinates, and/or presents professional development activities for either the program’s field

staff or early childhood partners and acts as technical assistance to early childhood partners if needed.

15. Participates on Committees as assigned by the Director or supervisory designee.

16. May supervise Administrative Support Staff assigned to support Coordinator positions to ensure any

issues are resolved and job responsibilities are being completed. Reviews time sheets to make sure

they are accurate .

17. Completes additional projects as assigned by the Director or supervisory designee.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Pennsylvania Certification in Special Education, Speech and Language Impairment,

Early Intervention, or Early Childhood.

2. Master's Degree in Special Education or Related Services is preferred, but not

required

3. Minimum of 5 years experience working in special education or early intervention;

must have a Level II teaching certification

4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required .

5. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation

skills required.

6. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple initiatives required .

7. Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and

external stakeholder groups; able to promote high expectations and high quality for

all staff.

8. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, while remaining logical and

interpersonal.

9. Demonstrated ability and experience in working as a member of a team required .

10. Excellent collaboration and leadership skills.

11. Data-driven decision making skills.

12. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

13. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible.

14. Valid PA Driver's License

Additional Requirements:

  1. Current Act 114, Act 34 , Act 151 and NSOR Clearances required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).


  1. School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.
