INVISTA is looking for a motivated individual to join our Process Control and Automation team as a Process Automation Engineer. This role has opportunity to be based in Longview, TX, or Houston, TX.

Our Team

The Automation team is responsible for the development, support, and improvement of process control automation tools used by INVISTA sites globally. We will collaborate with the individual sites to identify and prioritize new projects, lead design and configuration, assist with implementation and startup, and conduct post-audit review to improve deployments over time. This position will report to the Automation Team Leader with significant interaction with Process Engineering and Production Teams.

What You Will Do

  • Working closely with the Process Engineering and Production Teams at INVISTA sites to understand where the deployment of Process control automation (state-based control, automated procedures, advanced process control) would help maximize value.
  • Continually prioritize opportunities for process automation based on economic value and/or operating risk.
  • Implement process automation on DCS platforms either by coordinating in small site-based teams working with leveraged resources and/or external vendors.
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure that the project goals are achieved.
  • Ensure that the gains achieved from process automation projects are sustained over time.
  • Continually improve value from process automation by suggesting and/or applying other process control improvements through technologies and tools.
  • Roll-out and standardize the application of process automation technologies, maximize value from automation, and actively engage in knowledge management.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 2+ years of relevant te chnical experience or 3+ years of relevant industry experience in DCS/process control configuration
  • Demonstrated aptitude in manufacturing process automation


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of working in a manufacturing environment with experience in chemical process engineering and/or process control, including identification and implementation of process control improvement projects
  • 3+ years working with distributed control systems
  • Experience deploying State Based Control
  • Experience programming on Emerson Delta V platform or Honeywell Experion Platform
