Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for providing all needed Purchasing support to internal stakeholders and to act as the liaison between vendors and all internal key Business Partners to ensure an effective and seamless end to end purchasing cycle. The successful candidate will also be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods and services to meet the company's operational needs and will be the local subject matter expert on all Straumann Procurement best practices and policies.

Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs, develop sourcing strategies, and provide end to end source to pay purchasing support.
• Conducts sourcing activities as needed, obtains quotes from prospective vendors and makes prudent supplier selections according to the Straumann supplier selection guidelines.
• Participate in contract negotiations with supplier and work to obtain the best discounts and concessions for the company and consistently seek out opportunities for cost savings through supplier consolidation, bulk purchases or other strategies
• Manage the PR to Pay life cycle including providing support to the business on requisition creation, ensuring all approved POs are received and acknowledged by vendors, managing the goods receipt process and reconciling any invoicing discrepancies.
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of all goods purchases to prevent over stocking or stock out situations
• Work closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery of all goods and services and with Accounts Payable to ensure proper validation and timely payment of all vendor invoices
• Manages supplier relationships and build strong partnerships with all key local suppliers.
• Ensure all purchasing activities are in line with the Straumann Procurement Policies and Guidelines and meets all legal and ethical standards
• Knowledgeable of all existing contract terms and conditions, pricing and expectations to ensure accuracy in PR creations and the invoicing process by maintaining proper and accurate records on vendor pricing
• Exceptional customer services skills, deep understanding of business partnership and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Attributes:
• May sit for extended periods of time.
• Utilize dexterity abilities to perform typing, operate a computer and other office equipment, to perform filing, and related job responsibilities and attention to detail competence.
• Spend significant time reading both on paper and on a computer.
Work Environment:
• General office environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree OR 2+ years of experience working in a supply chain or manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment using industry accepted purchasing best practices
• 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience participating in negotiating agreements and contracts with strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms and conditions.
• Intermediate level knowledge and abilities in end-to-end strategic procurement functions.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Strong MS PowerPoint skills should be able to present analysis using PowerPoint for leadership review.
• Intermediate to expert knowledge in SAP reporting and Power BI analytics
• Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills, and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast paced and ever-changing work environment.
• Challenges the status quo and confident leading and driving enterprise change initiatives.
• SAP Logistics/Material Management proficiency
