What We Do:

OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

What You'll Do:
  • Assists Chief Clinical Officer in operation of Medical Staff functions & activities: serves as liaison between Clinical Directors
  • Coordinates meeting & procedural matters involved
  • Coordinates biannual review of Medical Staff Standards of Performance and Medical Staff Bylaws
  • Monitors monthly quality assurance activities & staff training requirements
  • Works with service staff to ensure compliance with state & federal laws & rules (e.g., ODMHAS, TJC, CMS)
  • Creates, revises, and updates formal internal/external correspondence for Chief Clinical Officer. Assists the CCO with ongoing recruiting efforts;
  • Works with HR/Education & Training to coordinate orientation for new & contract medical staff.
  • Manages credentialing process of Medical Staff: reviews & incorporates all relevant standards in facility's credentialing process;
  • monitors files to ensure all pertinent documents are present & current
  • Prepares reports for presentation to Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body .
  • Oversees activities of the Medical Staff: works with CCO and Medical Staff members to ensure Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) are conducted on a regular basis. Assists CCO by assembling competency information for use during performance evaluations.
  • Serves as timekeeper for Medical Staff members/support staff. Facilitates Medical Staff Committee Assignments.
  • Share oversight of Quality Assurance activities with the Program Administrator 1 assigned to CCO & DON to develop new or improves existing monitors

Qualifications
4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
