OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

What You'll Do :
This position will serve in an unclassified status pursuant to Ohio Revised Code, 124.11(A)(14), and as such, serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

Under administrative direction assists in program direction & acts for administrator: responds to safety & health issues for patients and staff (e.g., coordinates safety & health programs, investigates & implements corrective action on incidents related to physical plant hazards, formulates & implements new safety programs, implements compliance programs, formulates & implements fire safety, accident prevention, & hazardous materials program policies in accordance with regulations, organizes & conducts hazard surveillance throughout the RPH.) , plans, writes & implements safety & health goals & objectives, represents administrator at regional & state wide meetings pertaining to areas of responsibility, liaison between administrator & Ohio Safety & Health Association (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) & other local/state officials.

Investigate, analyze & evaluate programs, procedures & policies: investigate, analyze, evaluate & make recommendations to administrator on all job-related injuries & employee complaints, provides technical interpretation of regulations & policies to aid administrator in decision making, evaluates safety & health programs to protect patient's & employees' environments from accident & health hazards, investigates & evaluates patient & employee accidents, monitors & reviews all RPH occupational accident/illness reports, identifies & initiates corrective measures.

Develops & coordinates public relations & conducts training: provides technical interpretation, advice, & consultation on safety & health regulations, policies & issues to RPH personnel, consults with departmental managers in the development, implementation & review of safety rules & safe work practices, develops training courses & conducts mandated annual staff training on fire safety, general safety, & hazardous materials safety, provides orientation to new employees, volunteers, & Citizen Advisory Board members on hospital safety polices & procedures.

Manages daily safety & health operating/business functions of office: performs miscellaneous administrative duties (e.g., processes daily safety, hazard & accident reports, compiles data for statistical reports & accident data, prepares & submits safety & accident reports, processes records & maintains files required by Federal, State & local regulations..), participating member of Environment of Care Committee, serves on other committees as assigned, attends seminars to expand & update knowledge of regulations & inspection techniques.

Qualifications
4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
