Our California Active Consulting team in LA County, CA is currently recruiting for a Program Manager to provide direct services and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and/or mental health diagnoses in crisis or at risk of inpatient placement, involvement with law enforcement, potential harm to themselves or others, or loss of residential/home placement due to severe behavioral and/or psychiatric related issues. The Manager will also provide education and training to provider agency personnel in support of the individual’s treatment and care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all referrals are responded to in a timely manner per policy.
  • Complete agency and individual assessments to guide subsequent clinical interventions.
  • Provide direct clinical intervention consistent with credential/licensure.
  • Facilitate provider wraparound and consultation meetings.
  • Assist with modifying mental health treatment and behavior support plans as necessary.
  • Attend all agency, departmental, and client specific meetings as needed.
  • Complete all documentation of services provided per policy.
  • Conduct staff and caregiver training on implementation of individual behavioral support plans, safety plans, mental health treatment plans and related data collection within scope of practice.
  • Assist in transport of individuals according to Benchmark Policy.
  • Assist Team members in case management functions and discharge planning.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication strategies with all Team members.
  • Responsible for program staff scheduling to ensure 24/7/365 availability and that time and attendance records are completed correctly and timely.
  • Review incident reports and incidents of physical intervention in coordination with Program Director and Compliance.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with provider agencies, regulatory agencies, payers and community stakeholders through regular individual and program updates, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Provide programmatic, best-practice recommendations to participating providers and assist providers with implementation of best-practice protocols through consultation and training.
  • Assist providers with development, implementation, and monitoring of Person-Centered Plans, Behavior Support Plans, Mental Health Treatment Plans and Crisis Safety Plans.
  • Comply with all agency policies and professional standards to assure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to Director and report to appropriate State authorities as required by state rules and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Mental Health Services Division (MHSD) regulations and standards;
  • Knowledge of professional ethics, applicable licensing requirements;
  • Knowledge of health care privacy and confidentiality rules;
  • Knowledge of person-centered care and support for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or co-existing mental health diagnoses.

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • LMSW, LAC, LAMFT or BCBA in the State of California with at least three years’ experience providing behavioral health services;
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Certification and ongoing training in crisis de-escalation intervention curriculum
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance
  • Must be computer literate
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness, emotional disorders, and substance-related disorders who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crisis.

Preferred:
  • Fluent bilingual speaker in one or more of the following languages: (English/Spanish; English/Mandarin; English/Korean; English/Tagalog).
  • Two years of post-graduate experience working in community based crisis response
    services serving youth and adults
  • LCSW, LPC, LMFT or BCBA-D in the State of California
