Duties

  • Serve as the Vehicle Electronics and Architecture Program Manager which aids in the execution of multi-million-dollar Task Instruction/Work Directive based contracts.
  • Manage multiple Task Instructions running concurrently and at various stages of life-cycle, ensure cost, schedule and performance are at required standard or higher.
  • Maintain flow of contract documentation through work processes and assignment to various contract officer representatives (CORs).
  • Manage a comprehensive program of research, development, procurement, production, supply and maintenance to provide a balanced, economical and effective system for customers within the assigned programs.
  • Identify problem areas and determines and directs actions necessary to accomplish the project plan.
  • Understanding of project/program management competencies to execute projects within established cost, schedule, and performance constraints.
  • Evaluate pertinent data from higher headquarters, field commands and industry to provide ready, accurate and complete response to policy and program status inquiries.
  • Represent organization at high-level conferences and meetings, other commands, agencies, and private industry on matters pertaining to all aspects of assigned programs.
  • Review reports, analyzes issues, directs problem solving, evaluates progress, assesses outcomes, reports on cost/schedule/technical progress and out comes, and recommend follow-on actions.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is an Acquisition position (Engineering or Program Management), Practitioner certification required.
  • A three-year probationary period will be required in accordance with Lab Demo policy.
  • This position may require up to 20% of temporary duty (TDY) business travel.
  • Position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • This position is a TERM position not to exceed four (6) years. This TERM position may be extended to a maximum of six years. This position may be terminated or converted to permanent without further competition, at management discretion.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Foundational Level 2 certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience: Your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to higher-end of the Pay Band equivalent to GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Managing acquisition life cycle program activities of equipment and services; effectively communicating critical information to senior leadership through briefings and written examples; and/or analyzing cost comparison options for modernization efforts; utilizing logistics data management software to maintain and update records, statistical data, and inventory.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE 02/GS-11).

Education
