The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary
  • Manages The Department of Epidemiology's Pre and Post Award Process. Assists Principal Investigators and faculty in developing, reviewing, and renewing grants, contracts, and subcontract proposals. Coordinates and facilitates pre-award grant preparation and submission process in collaboration with the MSPH Office of Research (MSPH-SPA). Researches, digests and disseminates information regarding research funding opportunities; maintains data on funding sources and a library of agency policies, procedures, and documentation-interfaces with Sponsored Program Administration, Columbia Technology Ventures and the Clinical Trials Office on behalf of investigators.
  • Prepares and develops project budgets. Works with The Department of Epidemiology's Departmental Administrator and Associate Director of Grants and Finance in the preparation of the annual research budgets for progress reports and no-cost extensions.
  • Works with Principal Investigators, faculty, Departmental Administrator and Associate Director of Grants to ensure compliance and adherence to pertinent regulations, policies and procedures that govern sponsored grant funds. Stays abreast of NIH and external agency regulations, policies, and guidelines related to the conduct of research. Participates in regulatory audits and inspections; corrects deficiencies. Ensures compliance and regulatory requirements for grants are fulfilled and milestone deadlines. Manages PMCID submissions for grants.
  • Liaise with department, sub-award and Sponsored Projects Finance staff regarding salary allocation, outbound sub-award agreement set-up and project invoicing
  • Create and maintain financial reconciliation reports.
  • Works with The Department of Epidemiology's Departmental Administrator and Associate Director of Grants and Finance to prepare the annual research budgets for progress reports and no-cost extensions.
  • Works with Principal Investigators, Departmental Administrator and Associate Director of Grants to ensure compliance and adherence to pertinent regulations, policies and procedures that govern sponsored grant funds. Stays abreast of NIH and external agency regulations, policies and guidelines related to the conduct of research.
  • Cross covers other administrative positions and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three (3) years of related experience
