Responsibilities

  • Work with ASCENT project staff to establish relationships with military, government and private entities to provide training and workforce development for the ASCENT project. Create and oversee core training classes and certification tracks for the ASCENT program. Work with the Director and Assistant Director of the ASCENT program to establish novel programs for workforce development and recruitment.
  • Day-to-day management of the OPEL (Office of Professional Engagement and Learning) program. Oversee coordination of high-quality professional development programs, workshops, on-line courses and other activities throughout the year.
  • Oversee and manage the FSU Panama City professional development Canvas LMS (Learning Management System) instance, in cooperation with the Office of Distance Learning. Maintain appropriate records systems and prepare reports on program activities.
  • Supervises full-time & part-time adjuncts/staff associated with the programs (as needed); Develop the professional growth of staff using methods not limited to staff and individual meetings, in-service training activities, participation in Conferences, workshops, and/or virtual meetings/trainings.
  • Collaborate with the Dean and other campus leaders to advance the program's mission and commitment to regional workforce support.
  • All other duties necessary to maintain an efficient and compliant program.
  • Work with ASCENT staff to establish training relationships with military, government and private entities and provide core training classes and certification tracks.
  • Serve as OPEL program manager to oversee staff and training program offered at FSUPC for continuing and professional non-credit education.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ed.S degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Workforce Education, or other related field.
• Project Management training, experience, or certification.
• Knowledge in computer science, computer programing, and/or software development.
