Within the Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research, our interdisciplinary group of professionals, including physicians, economists, policy analysts, and lawyers, is at the forefront of studying innovative approaches to enhance healthcare outcomes. We are currently seeking a Programmer Analyst III who is passionate about conducting research in areas such as mental health, primary care, telemedicine, health policy, racial-ethnic disparities, and safety-net healthcare. As a Programmer Analyst III, you will work under the guidance of our Statistician and Principal Investigator. Your responsibilities will involve designing study databases, implementing robust quality control systems, coordinating and monitoring data collection from multiple sites, conducting comprehensive statistical analyses, and generating high-quality data outputs for reports. Additionally, you will contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, including crafting methods and results sections, for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Collaboration with Co-Investigators to tailor analyses for their individual manuscripts will also be part of your role. To excel in this position, a strong foundation in multivariate statistics, econometrics, psychometric theory, test measurement issues, and research design is essential. Proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., SAS, Stata), spreadsheet programs (e.g., MS Excel), and graphing software is also required. If you possess experience working with U.S. Census Bureau and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) data, as well as utilizing Federal Statistical Research Data Centers (FSRDC), is also highly preferred for success in this role.
