Job Summary

Location: Pasadena High School
"Pasadena High School was established in 1886. The school has been at its current location since 1960. Pasadena High School is one of four comprehensive high schools in the Pasadena Unified School District and serves students from the communities of Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre. Pasadena High School offers a variety of programs, both curricular and extracurricular, to all students. PHS currently offers three College and Career Pathways for students: the Creative and Media Arts Design (CAMAD) Academy, the
Law and Public Service (LPS) Academy, and the APP Academy, which emphasizes and develops students skills and knowledge in Computer Science. Students involved in the College and Career Pathway Academies complete
coursework and have the opportunity for field experiences in their respective area of study. Students have had the opportunity to learn more about careers through visits to the City of Pasadena Courthouse, sit in on law classes at Loyola Marymount University, visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and learn about various roles at a technology company, Spokeo. In addition to our College and Career Pathways, students are also part of our Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Program (DLIP) and our Math Academy, an accelerated math program that begins in fifth grade and prepares students for college-level mathematics courses in high school."

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Education: Must possess a secondary (i.e., high school) school diploma, or its equivalent (GED).
Experience: Recent paid or volunteer experience involving organized activities with elementary school children.
Special Licenses, Certifications, Language Skills:
As required by California Education Codes and Health & Safety Codes, school staff working with children must be free of infectious tuberculosis (TB). Proof of current TB screening must be presented prior to employment and renewed every 4 years thereafter.
Possession of current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certificates from approved training program is desirable.
The ability to read, write and speak a language, in addition to English is desirable
