Position Overview:

The Project Analyst/Data Manager is a key player in the Virginia Geriatric Education Center's (VGEC) HRSA-funded Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP), focusing on data management and analysis. This role requires proficiency in data management software such as Excel or R, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with the Director of Evaluation, the Director of Research, and the Principal Investigator (PI) to drive data-driven success. This position will entail building and maintaining databases and collaborating with partners to meet all project milestones and to maintain all records per federal reporting requirements. Grant funding guaranteed until June 30, 2025 and subject to renewal until 2029.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Management and Analysis
  • Design and maintain a system for tracking grant activities and outcomes, including timelines, deliverables, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Use Excel, R, or similar software to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research and support the PI in implementing data-driven strategies and optimizing databases.
  • Collaborate with the GWEP team and support data extraction and data analysis to prepare manuscripts.
2. Data Literacy and Reporting
  • Compile, analyze, and present data for reports, dashboards, and presentations, working with directors and the PI.
  • Compile and enter data to meet annual federal reporting requirements.
  • Support the PI in the completion of quarterly federal reporting and institutional review board compliance.
3. Collaboration with Directors and PI
  • Support the Director of Evaluation in tracking key metrics and informing program improvements.
4. Project Management and Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in managing project timelines, focusing on data milestones, and track progress using data tools.
  • Collaborate with the PI and directors on data-driven enhancements to improve program efficiency and impact.
  • Schedule and document meetings, prepare materials, and follow up on action items.Act as the primary contact for data-related inquiries, providing technical support to the team and the PI as needed.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping
  • Maintain organized, secure program data records and document data processes per federal and institutional regulations.
This role is crucial to managing a $5 million grant. It ensures that data-driven strategies are effectively implemented with the Director of Evaluation, the Director of Research, and the Principal Investigator.
