The Children and Family Services Division (CFSD) is responsible for designing and overseeing an array of programs and services for California's at-risk children and families; providing a statewide system for out of home care providers and appropriate services to children in out of home care; and facilitation of adoptions for children who need permanent homes.

The AGPA will assist with project management and oversight, providing direct support to the Staff Services Managers and Branch Chief. Many projects of the division require collaboration and effective project management in order to achieve the desired goals and outcomes of CFSD. This position is needed to assist in managing the Branch projects and Branch responses for other projects including the ICWA State Plan, the Division's strategic plan, the Annual Program Services Review (APSR), the Program Improvement Plan (PIP), California's Federal Services Review (CFSR), the Citizen's Review Panel, Tribal programs, and the Department's overall Equity plan. As other Branch projects arise, the AGPA will incorporate it into their portfolio of work to manage.

Telework / Remote Work Information: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Social Services policies. Advance in-person notice will be provided when possible. The employee would report to CDSS headquarters (744 P Street) in Sacramento if/when required to attend mandated in-person meetings, trainings, etc. Expenses related to travel to the office for required events are the responsibility of the employee. If telework/remote work ends, the position will have to report to CDSS headquarters in Sacramento.

Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
