The Amentum JETS II contract seeks to fill a Project Coordinator position in the NASA Astro materials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) Division, as part of the Amentum Science and Exploration Department (SED). This position will be hybrid at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX and requires occasional in person support onsite at JSC and travel for domestic and international meetings, workshops, and conferences.

The Project Coordinator will:
  • Provide scheduling, logistics, action tracking, and business services to a range of NASA's human exploration organizations, particularly Artemis and lunar science teams
  • Provide administration services for workshops and conferences at Johnson Space Center, other NASA centers and at meetings with international space agency partners. Administrative services may include leading meetings, coordinating agendas, note taking, action tracking, and similar tasks
  • Provide in person and virtual coordination services for various NASA customers. In person support at Johnson Space Center and some international travel for meetings, workshops and conferences will be required
  • Provide review, preparation, and development of scientific, engineering, and technical documents
  • Maintain SharePoint action, event trackers, and related calendars for Artemis program activities
  • Integrate science community documents into flight systems and human and robotic planetary exploration requirements
  • Perform other tasks assigned


Requisition Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and normally possess 3 years of work experience or an associate technical discipline
  • Experience coordinating meetings, schedules, logistics and services across multiple organizations or groups
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, develop innovative work ideas, and work without specific tasking
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, file/image editing with Adobe products)
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on a team and lead tasks when necessary
  • Highly organized with attention to detail

Requisition Preferences:
  • Bachelors in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Knowledge of planetary science concepts or human spaceflight
  • Mission science integration and operations
  • Scientific or technical writing, publication submissions, and proposal development
  • Proficiency with web-based collaborative platforms (e.g. wiki, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
  • Prior NASA experience

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
