Quandel Energy Solutions is currently searching for a Project Development Engineer in our Harrisburg, PA office.

Looking to expand on our core construction services, Quandel created a new business unit called Quandel Energy Solutions (QES) in 2021 to provide our clients with a service offering focused on energy efficiency, resiliency, and sustainability. Despite being the most recent addition to the Quandel Enterprises family of companies, QES is staffed with professionals that have worked in the construction, performance contracting and energy sectors for decades and have successfully completed hundreds of projects. To date, QES been very successful in identifying and working with a variety of customers to provide comprehensive facility needs assessments, guaranteed energy savings and hybrid construction projects, and renewable energy installations to reduce their carbon footprint.

Summary

The Project Development Engineer is a key role directly reporting to the Director of Project Development - ESCO. Based in our Harrisburg or Pottsville regional office, you will have a direct impact in the growth strategy of Quandel Energy Solutions. As a Project Development Engineer, you will perform energy assessments, determine improvement areas, perform measurements, provide documentation of the recommended energy conservation measures, and calculate and verify savings. Work closely with the Business Development team for the technical and commercial development of Energy Solutions and Proposals.

What You Will Do:
  • Conduct on-site walk-through audits and field observations, collect energy efficiency data, and analyze the process of energy efficiency
  • Inspect energy systems for HVAC, Controls, Lighting Systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings
  • Identify high energy consumption sources and design, develop and recommend, energy-efficient solutions
  • Provide Business Development team technical assistance and guidance
  • Gather key project parameters such as operating times, flows, energy consumption, temperatures, system operating characteristics, etc.
  • Investigate, analyze, and document energy conservation and water cost reduction measures
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis including baseline profiles and retro-fit analysis
  • Design of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), specifications, bill of quantities and sequences of operation, and prepare and present technical content
  • Identify shortfalls in the projects and mitigate the associated risks
  • Participate in review for engineering analyses and project costing
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Energy Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years' of experience in Energy Performance Contracts/Energy Solutions Projects
  • Energy auditing experience, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and attention to detail
