The Opportunity: As an Electrical Project Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating the planning, organizing, and completion of capital projects.

How you will impact WestRock:

• Support and foster safety and environmental compliance
• Understand safe designs, safe work practices, and safe work environments.
• Evaluate and performance of electrical systems to determine the best option for future needs.
• Develop capital CFR documents for the capital approval process.
• Implement capital projects on time and within budget.
• Control project costs by developing bid packages, monitoring expenditures, and administering contracts.
• Establish project schedules by studying specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Responsible for construction oversight during implementation phases of on-site construction
• Partner with operations, E&I, Process Control, and Mechanical Maintenance to understand all processes and how teams and individuals are involved and impacted at each step.

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering; mechanical or chemical engineering preferred.
• Must have 5 years of experience in a project, operations, or maintenance engineering role.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and process-analysis skills to evaluate data and make decisions to drive process improvements through capital upgrades.
• Possess effective communication skills to clearly convey project-related data to operations, maintenance, and management.
• Proven track record of collaboration within cross-functional teams
• Work experience in the paper industry or similar industry preferred.
