Position Summary

Our AGV systems consist of one or more vehicles, advanced control software, and supporting infrastructure, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Within the AGV division at Oceaneering International the Project Engineering department plays a key role in development, design proving, installation, integration and acceptance activities associated with AGV System solutions deployed at our customers. Ultimately the project engineer is responsible for ensuring the correct technical solution is developed to meet the customers' stated needs within project schedule and budget. Given that we have global customers, travel to customer facilities for technical working sessions and system installations is required.
The Project Engineering team carry out technical leadership activities covering the full project lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders in the assigned client group to understand the people requirements and implications of business.
• The PE has the responsibility to engage all stakeholders to solve technical problems that arise during the project execution.
• Directs and supervises the deliverables and activities of moderate to large size technical teams of engineers, designers, and engineering subcontractors.
• Generate detailed system design, subsystem specifications and interfaces to support the engineering disciplines, supply chain management, assembly, and deployment during the projects.
• Supervises System Validation and Verification; Define, plan, and execute performance and availability test activities to ensure the delivered solution meets the customer requirements.
• Proactively manages technical risk throughout a project including hazard analysis and FMEA.
• Interact with customer technical representatives to define and manage customer expectations during project execution.
• System Validation and Verification; Assist the System Engineer with the performance and availability tests to ensure the delivered solution meets the agreed customer requirements.
• Interact with customer technical representatives to define and manage customer expectations during project execution.
• Requirements capture and management: Capture customer needs and translate into functional and non-functional requirements by managing the deviation and flow-down of lower-level subsystem and component requirements.
• Write, review & execute Change Requests: Document and manage customer business needs through refinements, by providing clear technical instructions for engineering & software teams as well as capture the technical scope in a proposal document.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Technical bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university. Master's degree preferred.
• As a minimum 5 years Lead engineering experience in complex system deployment and manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience gained in either deployment of AGV or mobile robotic systems or autonomous logistical systems.
• Proven decision-making ability and leadership skills in a technical environment.
• Strong time management and analytical skills.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Well organized and able to manage large volumes of information.
• Experience in sub-contracting design and/or assembly/manufacture.
• Excellent written and oral communications in English are essential.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
