Your role:

As a Senior Project Engineer in the Engineering & Technology team, you are a crucial business partner for the MilliporeSigma Life Science Business, aiding in the preparation and execution of strategic and tactical projects involving facilities and utilities. Your responsibilities include managing and supporting capital projects up to $10 MM, including design firms up to $2 MM in fees, across manufacturing and shipping locations in the United States.

In this role, you will assist the technical project manager in developing the technical scope across projects, reviewing and challenging external designs for your area of responsibility, and ensuring the identification of technical interdependencies. Your contributions will support the execution of the LS strategy and the pursuit of technological advancement by evaluating effective, sustainable, and state-of-the-art solutions in line with applicable safety and quality requirements, leveraging the internal technology network across the organization. Additionally, you will contribute to the execution of the LS strategy and support the strategic development of the North American Life Science network.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology GMP production environment
  • Capability to travel up to 20% of the time


Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of quality regulations
  • Proficient knowledge of clean rooms, sterilization equipment and processes, critical utility requirements for GMP, and aseptic processes
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and systems to develop solutions.
  • Significant skills and experience in supporting larger technical investment projects ($10M-$100M) in the field of mechanical engineering from inception to completion, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Curiosity and passion for identifying new technology.
  • Effective work ethic, discipline, and demonstrated documentation skills.
  • Inclusive mindset with the ability to identify required resources, internal or external experts, and stakeholders.


Additional needs:

Must be able to walk, stand, reach above the shoulders, use a cellular phone, use feet to operate equipment, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, use hands to operate tools and equipment. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and additional weight with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to wear a hardhat, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, a safety harness, and protective clothing and gloves, respirator, and face shield. Must have valid driver's license and requires operation of company vehicles. Must be able to work at varying heights.
