About the role



As a CBRE Project Management Sr. Manager, you'll lead the rollout of a highly visible Electrical Vehicle Charger program across the US and Canada for a key energy, oil, and gas client. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing EV charging station projects coupled with a strong understanding of utility infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Lead all facets of project management for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure projects, including pre-project safety and risk analysis, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, quality control, and risk management.
  • Demonstrate the capability to read, understand, and apply standard and complex documents related to EV projects, such as agreements, contracts, work letters, project charters, surveys, and EV-specific drawings.
  • Interface directly with clients to define project requirements and prepare the scope of work.
  • Conduct requests for proposals (RFPs), complete bid analysis, lead evaluation interviews, and recommend suitable resources to clients.
  • Spend at least 15% of the time at sites for assurance, audit compliance, validating HSSE delivery, and ensuring suppliers are performing according to client standards.
  • Observe the project process against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and timelines. Report status and variances, and build a plan to meet project objectives, budget requirements, and schedule deadlines.
  • Implement change management routines specifically tailored for EV projects, including assessing change requests, making recommendations, obtaining client approvals, and issuing change orders.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify complex project risks associated with the charging station infrastructure installations and develop effective risk mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Supervise all site activities mainly 'Hold Point' to ensure that all works are aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Verify invoices for work undertaken at the construction site to validate that the costs incurred are as invoiced.
  • Analyze the developer's direct and indirect cost budget and coordinate with the cost advisory group to review supporting documentation submitted.
  • Lead and coordinate the successful completion and handover of the project in line with all pre-requisites defined in the handover process.

What you'll need




  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 6 years of construction project management experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of 8 years of experience and education will be considered.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with layout design and electric utilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
  • LEED AP, PMP, and CCM designations preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
