HDR is seeking a seasoned engineer to serve as the Deputy Program Manager, Engineering in the Nashville's East Bank Program Management Team.

  • The duties of the successful candidate are listed below.
  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of the multidiscipline engineering efforts for the East Bank Program
  • Provide engineering oversight of consultants participating in the program:
  • Review/coordinate the review of engineering plans and documents prepared by others.
  • Assist with the monitoring of scope, schedule, budget, and performance of engineering consultants participating on the program.
  • Coordinate the review process with Metro departments and participating engineers to resolve review comments.
  • Oversee, review, produce, and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Coordinate engineering efforts and strategies across several City departments, the Mayor's Office, NDOT, TDOT, MTA, state and federal agencies, outside consultants, and contractors.
  • Provide strategic advise regarding engineering concepts, sequence of work, trade-offs, contracting, and project execution.
  • Assist with the preparation for seamless transitions from planning, engineering, and construction for various projects.
  • Conduct schematic design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines
  • Coordinate, staff, and manage internal engineering assignments on behalf of the program
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Leadership for project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise staff and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers and engineers
  • Participation in Professional Organizations to help establish and provide recognition of HDR in the local market.
  • The successful candidate will report to the Program Management office to be located in downtown Nashville


Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification
  • TN PE or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Traffic Engineering and modeling experience
  • Urban roadway, multimodal, complete streets, utilities, and civil design experience
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5 years related experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
