Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of experience in a field related to public health/human services programming, public health/human services planning, or public health/human services program management.
  • Related experience may substitute for education up to a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
  • Graduation with a Master's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one (1) year of the required work experience.

Position Overview

This role involves coordinating preventive health services, promoting public health education, conducting outreach, and maintaining engagement within Austin's Asian American Pacific Islander ( API ) community. The position will also collaborate with external community groups to address health equity barriers and enhance access to existing resources for the API community.

  • This position is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSF ) Program. This program is a federal program that is intended to encourage individuals to work in public service by forgiving the balance of their federal student loans.
Salary and Benefits:

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating social services in Asian American Pacific Islander ( API ) communities.


  • Demonstrate knowledge of health equity and social determinants of health
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the unique challenges and health disparities faced by the Asian American Pacific Islander ( API ) community
  • Experience in coordinating language access services
  • Knowledge of public health program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Plans goals, objectives, for assigned programs.
  • Develops policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates programs to determine compliance with Federal, State, Local, and departmental regulations.
  • Develops and conducts orientation and training sessions for program staff.
  • Assists in budget preparation.
  • Promotes assigned programs through relevant media.
  • Investigates client or community complaints.
  • Handles personnel issues
  • Performs other tasks as required.

    • Knowledge of organization and administration of public health and/or human service programs.
