The Quality and Compliance Manager is an integral member of the Pathology Quality and Regulatory department responsible for the overall support and maintenance of controlled documents and the continuous assessment/improvement of related systems and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The Quality and Compliance Manager shares some responsibilities with the Pathology Quality Director and may be asked to act as a backup during inspections and audits.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Lead quality management activities at City of Hope Clinical Laboratories and Clinical Network Laboratories, emphasizing process improvement, licensing, accreditation, internal audits, and staff training on quality management systems.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of regulations and standards from agencies such as CDPH, CMS/CLIA, JC, and CAP as applicable to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain required licenses and certifications, assist in initial lab licensing and certification, manage records, and ensure timely fee payments.
  • Compile data for quality reports, track and analyze nonconforming events (NCEs), and participate in process improvement teams. Ensure the implementation of the Quality Management program at CNLs.
  • Support onsite inspections, assist with CAP self-inspections, and conduct routine internal audits. Participate in gap analyses and serve as the primary contact for external regulatory and accrediting agencies for CNLs.
  • Develop orientation and training materials, stay updated on regulatory changes, and initiate recurring regulated activities. Serve as a liaison with external agencies and assist in inspection responses and reporting.




Your qualifications should include:
  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • 5 years of experience performing or supervising medical laboratory testing and 2 years of quality, compliance, or regulatory experience in clinical/medical laboratories
  • California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (generalist or specialist)
