Your role and responsibilities

Develop and implement Project Quality Plan for assigned jobs, Perform Structural, Mechanical and Electrical In-Process inspections of the eHouses at the vendors location Identify quality defects or non-conformance issues, generate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) to the vendors and lead the closure of open quality issues on projects Co-ordinate and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests at the factories and ensure product conformance to specifications and approved design drawings Co-ordinate Integrated Factory Acceptance Tests with customer, suppliers, and internal stake holders at the eHouse vendors, lead resolution of punch list elements prior to shipment Read and interpret as-built electrical equipment and PDC (Power Distribution Center) drawings (single line, general arrangements, schematics and wiring diagrams etc) and communicate effectively with suppliers and customers Co-ordinate installation, integration and testing of electrical equipment inside PDC with supplier(integrator) and field services team Ensure that established quality procedures are adhered to during the project lifecycle, and all checklists are signed off prior to the shipment release of the eHouses Develop Safety plan for the project and ensure the Safety and EHS processes are being followed by the ABB representatives, vendors & customers. Take the lead in documenting, investigating, and resolving any safety related issues during the project execution Develop a cooperative relationship approach with the vendors ensuring that the ABB Quality standards are met Attend customer job sites to address any quality claims submitted by the customer, and work with the project team and supplier to prepare action plans to address issues in a timely manner Take pro-active measures based on lessons learned to prevent re-occurrence of potential issues that can affect smooth project execution Identify opportunities for improvement in project execution or product design and communicate to the engineering and manufacturing teams Support the organization with maintaining ISO certification through strong adherence to established QMS Perform new supplier qualification audits and routine audits of existing suppliers

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar)
  • At least 3 years of field experience in Electrical Distribution industry
  • Minimum 3+ years additional experience in quality, manufacturing, supply chain, field services
  • Fluent in English. Spanish Language is a Plus
  • Previous E-House including LV and MV equipment experience
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, MS Project, other project management tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills: ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels in the organization and external contacts
  • Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • High energy level - self-starter and self-driven
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and sense of urgency in dealing with tasks
  • Has a Customer Centric behavior, is able to deal with complex Customers (internal and external) and meet specific requirements when needed. Strives for achieving the Project goals and Customer satisfaction
