POSITION TITLE:

Intervention Teacher (Academic)

QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB GOAL:

To assist students needing additional support in reading (literacy), math, science and writing.

REPORTS TO:

School Principal

SUPERVISES:

Students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the intervention teacher will include the following:
  • Plan cooperatively in a variety of settings with school administrators, support staff, and teachers so that intervention activities are individualized and targeted to student needs.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with school administrators, teachers, and parents.
  • Provide differentiated support to students to make certain that all academic expectations are fully implemented and mastered.
  • Assist school administrators, the school leadership team, and teachers in analyzing data to determine appropriate intervention for each student in need of academic intervention.
  • Participate actively in professional learning.
  • Participate in planning/grade level meetings in which instruction is planned and adjusted to meet student academic needs.
  • Adhere consistently to an approved schedule.
  • Perform other responsibilities deemed necessary as assigned by the principal.
  • Encourage and support intervention students to participate in activities/competitions beyond school (i.e., chess, book club, athletics, music, etc.)
  • Consistently demonstrates a cooperative spirit.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

EVALUATION:

Nine-month position in accordance with the Board's salary schedule.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Tarrant city Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified personnel.

This is an exempt position.
