Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Planning & Regional Office Operations, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the Central Coast Regional Office operations and community-based projects, which include, but are not limited to: 1) engaging in and fully documenting collaborative partnerships and activities designed to improve support and services for people with intellectual/developmental and/or cross-disabilities and their families, in accordance with state and federal mandates; 2) engaging in systemic advocacy, capacity-building, and systemic change activities in the development and implementation of the Council's 5-year strategic State Plan; 3) managing SCDD's federal and/or state-funded (reimbursable interagency agreement) program activities; 4) participating in interagency, regional and/or state-level committee work, including leadership of Central Coast Regional Advisory Committee; 5) developing engaging curriculum and training materials targeting multiple learning modalities to meet the needs of individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and other stakeholders, and, 6) supervising and managing personnel, administrating support, and fiscal management functions.
The Central Coast Regional Office is located in San Jose serving the seven county catchment of Santa Clara, San Benito, Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura, with the expectation of working from the San Jose office location

The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is an independent state agency mandated by federal and state law to pursue systemic change, capacity-building, and advocacy to promote a person-centered consumer and family-based system of services and supports for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and/or crossed disabilities. The goal of the federal law is to enable individuals with I/DD (self-advocates) to maximize their self-determination, independence, productivity, and community integration and inclusion. The State Council (Council) consists of 31 voting individual, family, and agency members, all of whom are appointed by the Governor.

Working Conditions
- This position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California.
