Description
Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.
Reports to: Market Director of Diagnostic Imaging and/or Imaging Supervisor
Reviews patient history and physician orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment & exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.

Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.

Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.

Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
Associate's degree in Radiology - Preferred

Graduate from a Medical Ultrasound or Vascular Program - Required

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire.Drag Edit Delete

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography(s) and/or registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with vascular specialty and/or with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS)

Six (6) months experience performing Vascular Ultrasound procedures
