Department Summary

The Center for Health Policy has three pillars: Research, Education and Community. These pillars are underpinned by health equity, the translation of research into policy and the practical and effective implementation of policies related to health. The Center focuses particularly but not exclusively on three broad areas: Telementoring & Workforce Development, Rural Health and Whole Health.

Position Overview

Role activities include, but are not limited to data collection, development of project/program materials inclusive of communication materials, data analysis, report preparation, engagement with collaborative partners, literature reviews, abstract and original manuscript and policy brief drafts.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures. Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students. Academic writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree qualification in Public Health or related field. Master's level degree qualification. Experience with community engagement. Experience working within a dynamic team and a proven record of being a team player.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:
  • Assist in project administration and community activities, including, but not limited to meeting scheduling, email communication with collaborating partners, and social media communications.
  • Participate in community engagement activities.
  • Quality Control of files and data collected.
  • As appropriate, code and verify data in accordance with specified research protocol and coding procedures enter data into a computer database and/or spreadsheet application for subsequent analysis.
  • Manage data and coordinate data entry, assist in data analyses.
  • Assist in project website content maintenance, drafting of conference abstracts, journal manuscripts, policy briefs.
