Description

The Clemson University School of Architecture invites applications for a full-time, time-limited Research Assistant Professor to engage in historic preservation research at the Clemson Design Center, Charleston (CDC.C). The successful candidate will establish research in collaboration with the MS Historic Preservation Director, and the Design and Built Environment PhD directors with a start date as early as September 2024.



Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing journal manuscripts independently and in collaboration with CDC.C faculty
  • Working with the Historic Preservation lab to test, and collecting data on all funded projects in the historic preservation lab
  • To author a minimum of 3 national or internationally peer-reviewed papers in Historic Preservation
  • To support and improve the research productivity and opportunities for all faculty in the CDC.C
  • To work directly with the CDC.C director to align projects and research funding with the mission of the CDC.C
  • To represent Clemson University at multiple Historic Preservation industry and academic conferences per year as a presenter
  • To recruit and oversee Ph.D. students in the areas of historic preservation and to provide funded opportunities for these students
  • To increase research funding within three years


Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in Architecture, or in an allied discipline and an established record or demonstrated trajectory of research, scholarship, and/or creative work in architecture.
