Job Summary

Our overarching goal is to study how kidney cells respond to injury and translate our findings into new therapies to help patients suffering from kidney injury. Our lab uses a variety of techniques, including mouse models, cell culture, deep learning, engineered model systems, and molecular biology.

Our current work focuses on identifying factors that make the kidney vulnerable to injury, understanding the molecular and genetic mechanisms that drive successful regeneration, and engineering models of functional kidney tissue outside the body. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team of talented young researchers and will have the opportunity to work directly with the Principal Investigator (PI) on all aspects of the work. We expect that contributions will merit authorship on the labs publications. The PI is a practicing physician-scientist and is committed to mentoring students and staff to successful careers in medicine and research.
