Job Summary
The Division of Rheumatology is seeking a full-time technician to participate in translational studies of autoimmune disorders, including scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune diseases.

Background Screening

Responsibilities*
- Perform mRNA extraction, cDNA conversion, and qRTPCR.
- Maintain primary cell cultures and cell lines for experiments.
- Process clinical samples including tissue dissociation, cell culture, and cryopreservation.
- Cryosection frozen tissues and perform immunohistochemistry experiments.
- Conduct in vivo rodent fibrosis and inflammation experiments.
- Analyze protein expression and cell signaling by western blotting.
- Collaborate scientifically with colleagues, including training new lab members and supervising/mentoring undergraduate students.
- Contribute to general lab upkeep.
Required Qualifications*
- HS Diploma or Associate Degree.
- 1-3 years experience.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
- BS in Biology or related field of science.
- Previous experience in rodent handling, histology, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, qPCR, and western blotting is preferred. Proficiency in Prism and MS Office.
