The Research Specialist will assist in developing projects in the field of musculoskeletal cell and molecular biology, and neuroplasticity, in relation to overuse injury, pain and repair. Help in maintaining administrative work related to animal welfare and lab safety. Help in training students in immunohistochemistry and biochemistry. Help in writing manuscripts related to injury and inflammation in musculoskeletal and neural tissues. Explore new resources within Temple University. Knowledge in musculoskeletal tissue physiology, cell and molecular biology, inflammatory responses is necessary. Ability to perform histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, biochemical and molecular biological methods is critical, as is rodent handling and drug delivery. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
PhD, postdoctoral training, and extensive lab and supervisory research laboratory experience. The position requires a person with a proficient level of technical and professional skills. The knowledge in musculoskeletal tissue physiology, cell and molecular biology, inflammatory responses is necessary. Ability to perform histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, biochemical and molecular biological methods is critical, as is rodent handling and drug delivery. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Experience in Immunohistochemistry
*Experience in Histochemistry
*Molecular skills
*Demonstrated ability in Rodent handling and drug delivery
*Demonstrated ability to work independently.
*Demonstrated ability to perform all of the above research techniques.
*Excellent technical and analytical skills.
*Ability to work in a team environment with strong written and oral communication skills.
*Ability to operate all standard laboratory and office equipment.
*Experience with MS Office and data analysis software.
*Must be highly collaborative, self-motivated, results focused, team-oriented, with excellent attention to detail

This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
