PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Coordinate the Department of Ophthalmology's ACGME-accredited Residency Program. Act as residency program administrative assistant for the Ophthalmology Department's Office of Medical Education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversees the day-to-day operations and manages logistics of program coordination

• Assists with resident onboarding and promotion paperwork as directed by Instititutional/House Staff Offices and requirements

• Maintains current resident and graduate files

• Assists with coordinating educational lectures and workshops in support of the residency program curriculum as well as other residency activities (such as meetings and graduation) including reserving rooms and catering and posting the monthly educational activities bulletin

• Administers, configures and maintains New Innovations database and ensures distribution of evaluations and monitoring of duty hours, attendance, and delinquent evaluations or paperwork.

• Ensures program's completion of and compliance with reporting requirements and paperwork/requests related to the program and trainees (including GME office, ACGME, ABO, and credentialing bodies/organizations requesting verification of training)

• Compiles data and materials for trainee/program reviews and meetings

• Assists with coordination of resident selection process including communication with applicants and selection committee members, as necessary.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

High School or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

5 years work experience

Previous experience with resident or student programs in an academic setting or experience with accreditation or related initiatives (e.g., ACGME, LCME) a plus.
