The Revenue Cycle Clinical Systems Analyst will act as subject matter expert in partnership with revenue cycle, clinical documentation, and/or clinical resource management teams to support and optimize related technology systems. The analyst will also liaise with clinical departments, the Bear Institute/Cerner, and external software vendors. The analyst will provide workflow analysis, staff education, reporting, and technical troubleshooting to support departmental teams and maximize the efficiency of the clinically driven revenue cycle.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree 8 years of experience in healthcare or revenue cycle will be considered in place of a degree. Clinical training strongly preferred. (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years 5 years of related experience related to Revenue cycle and/or healthcare IT systems is required. Clinical experience strongly preferred. .

Required Skills/Knowledge
Expertise in revenue cycle, clinical resource management, clinical documentation, and/or information technology systems is required
Knowledge of Cerner clinical and/or revenue cycle applications strongly preferred
Ability to support large scale projects and software deliveries as part of a team
Strong analytical, interpersonal, customer service, communication and problem solving skills
Meticulous eye for detail and accuracy
Detail-oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent trouble shooting skills and strong aptitude for translating business needs into technology solutions

Functional Accountabilities
Technology Systems Support
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders and end-users and analyze department processes and performance to identify technology, workflow, and data improvement opportunities
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and support Revenue Cycle, Clinical Documentation, and/or Clinical Resource Management systems and tools to ensure optimization of new and existing technology solutions to meet operational and financial needs
  • Participate in technology upgrades and testing events
  • Provide hands on troubleshooting of Revenue Cycle, Clinical Documentation, and/or Clinical Resource Management systems and work to solve technical and user issues in partnership with internal IT department and external vendors
  • Work with management team to provide strategic direction for exploring future opportunities to use new technology to improve business and processes based on industry trends and organizational needs
  • Assist with the management of issues/proposed resolutions - submit and follow up on tickets and enhancement requests to resolve technical issues and improve workflows
  • Provide education to internal staff regarding technical applications during the onboarding process and as needed for supplemental and remedial training as well as for new system implementations
  • Perform data analysis in order to extract requirements, identify data inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting
  • Collaborate in development of reports to assess topics such as staff productivity, process improvement, program and project outcomes, and progress towards departmental and hospital goals
Clinical Systems Liaison
  • Leverage clinical knowledge to advise leadership regarding optimization of technical systems and departmental workflows
  • Liaise between revenue cycle, clinical documentation and/or clinical resource management and hospital clinical and IT departments to optimize the clinically driven revenue cycle system
  • Participate in interdisciplinary hospital project meetings as a department representative to ensure the continued functionality of revenue cycle, clinical documentation and/or clinical resource management workflows and advocate for teams' technical and clinical interests
  • Provide subject matter expertise on technology systems' interactions with the electronic medical record and considerations about workflows, clinician usability, patient experience, compliance, charge optimization etc.
