Robotics Education Competition Community Development VISTA

The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation located in Greenville, TX is a global, nonprofit, educational organization that provides elementary, middle school, and high school-aged youth with unique opportunities to participate in high-quality and affordable STEM-based robotics programs and competitions using the evidence-based VEX Robotics platform. Led by mentors, students form teams to design, build, and program robots for competition. Students use the REC Foundation's guided design process to engineer, program and build robots and code them to accomplish challenging skills and engage in competition. Robots attract kids to STEM learning and the process of developing coding solutions provides a relevant context for engaging students in Computer Science. The Community Development VISTA will assist with the execution and expansion of impact reporting for the REC Foundation by gathering qualitative and quantitative evaluation for use in grant reporting, case studies, and program community impact reports and collecting and organizing pictures, videos, and stories for marketing and promotional purposes.

Member Duties : The Community Development VISTA will assist with the execution and expansion of impact reporting for the REC Foundation. Major duties include: • Collect qualitative and quantitative data for impact and grant reporting; • Organize content for advocacy and impact program reports; • Gather information to grow, share, and promote the diversity and inclusion initiatives.
