Safety Manager

Plan, implement, coordinate, and assess hospital accident, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health programs under general direction of hospital officials, utilizing knowledge of industrial safety-related engineering discipline and operating regulations: Develops and recommends new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention based on reports of incidents, accidents, and other data gathered from hospital personnel for Consigli.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations.
  • Determine probable causes.
  • Make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Create safety committees or boards.
  • Skilled at running accident prevention and fire safety programs for their employers.
  • Provide employees with self-audit or safety inspection tools.
  • Regular safety auditing and the reporting of results.
  • Overseeing its safety self-audit and inspection programs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of such audits.
  • Encourage and create a high level of safety awareness within their organization, partially through use of safety self-audits.
  • Good safety managers also must be skilled communicators so they can address workplace safety issues and programs.

Required Experience
  • Degreed Safety Professional with CHST or CSP designation required.
  • Minimum of OSHA 500 - trainer course in Construction Safety Standards.
  • Red Cross or American Heart Association First aid trainer.
  • Have worked within and have experience with an IIF or IFE (Injury & Incident Free, or Injury Free Environment) safety culture.
  • Have working capability with web-based safety auditing programs. (Predictive Solutions/dbo2)
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of spreadsheets expected.
  • Have ability to work within a team and provide valuable analysis and improvement to safety programing.
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis Incident Investigations
