Essential Job Functions

At the direction of the Associate Director of Physical Security and working closely with the Firmwide Physical Security Team, the Safety & Security Training and Support Specialist will be responsible for administering the training and administrative support requirements for the Firm's Physical Security function (health & safety, security, emergency preparedness and crisis management). This role will be responsible for developing training plans and programs, facilitating training engagements, and developing communications and outreach campaigns across the Firm to enhance safety and security awareness. The Safety & Security Training and Support Specialist will evaluate existing training programs, methods, and vendor relationships to make recommendations for improvement. The Safety & Security Training and Support Specialist will play a key role in establishing a mindset and culture of safety and security awareness within the Firm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
  • Evaluating past and current training initiatives
  • Develop and maintain internal Firm communication tools to include SharePoint and intranet sites
  • Develop training and awareness collateral to include training guides, posters, videos and other training media
  • Making recommendations for new training initiatives and topics
  • Engaging with various departments across the Firm to conduct gap analyses and needs assessments
  • Partnering with Human Resources to incorporate training into development plans and ensure new hires have a consistent and comprehensive introduction to safety and security at the Firm
  • Working with key vendors to establish training programs for their personnel working within our environment
  • Maintaining records of training and certification
  • Evaluating and managing training vendor relationships
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop and review training content
  • Organizing training sessions for dozens or hundreds of personnel

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

The selected candidate will hold a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in training, communication, educational development, human resource management, criminal justice administration, business administration, or a related field. The candidate will also have a minimum of 5 years' related experience in a corporate professional services environment.

Candidate must also possess the following skills:

  • Ability to influence leadership decision making

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact with personnel, vendor, and other third parties, at all levels, in a positive manner
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions

Experience within a safety or security organization facilitating training related to the following topics is highly desirable: workplace health and safety, evacuation or shelter in place, CPR/AED, workplace violence, mail hazards, emergency communications systems, and floor warden/fire marshal duties.
