Description
Conduct safety trainings and inspect safety equipment in University of Houston buildings. Maintains detailed records of all equipment, populate departmental database, investigate accidents/incidents, and support other EHS discipline-specific areas.

Qualifications
Associates and 1 year experience
Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience

Conduct safety trainings and inspect safety equipment in University of Houston buildings. Maintains detailed records of all equipment, populate departmental database, investigate accidents/incidents, and support other EHS discipline-specific areas.
- Conduct safety training for faculty, staff and students.
- Inspects facilities, work areas and equipment. Verify fume hood functionality on campus.
- Tests safety showers and eye washes on campus.
- Coordinate and verify biosafety cabinet certifications.
- Assists with activities and inventory of survey meters and dosimetry badges.
- Populate departmental database and generate reports from database.
- Populate departmental database and generate reports from database.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify what caused them and how they might be prevented.
- Provides services related to handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, as needed. Assist with respiratory fit-testing. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
