Corteva Agriscience is a global leader of seed, crop protection, and digital solutions in agriculture. We have an opening in our R&D organization for a scientific computing specialist to work at the intersection of world class statistics, computer science and seed product design to bring the power of accelerated genetic gain to our customers. This position will reside within the Seed Product Development Biostatistics & Scientific Computing team. This team discovers, adapts, and develops state of the art statistical methodology and computational algorithms that help convert high-volume data streams into actionable insights in real-time, to inform optimized Seed Product Design. We are looking for an inquisitive, detail-oriented software developer who wants to join our world-class Biostatistics & Scientific Computing team. Responsibilities - What You'll Do:
- Partner with SPD scientists to implement prototypic algorithms, pipelines or user-interfaces to help convert data into actionable insights.
- Work collaboratively on projects with other members of the scientific computing team, SPD research scientists and Farming Solutions and Digital (FS&D) partners.
- Keep up with industry best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning to enable application of new technologies and frameworks.
Requirements - What Skills You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Understanding of programming concepts such as data structures, object-oriented programming and algorithm design.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Python, C++, C#, Rust or similar programming language experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse language, cultural, and scientific backgrounds.
- Experience with software engineering tools such as CI/CD pipelines and Git.
- AWS or other cloud experience.
- Experience with containerization platforms leveraging Linux and targeting cloud platforms.
- Experience with writing unit tests.
- Experience with implementing UI design principles for web or desktop applications.
- Background or interest in biology, genetics, or agriculture.
