We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. This is a 100% remote position, with a preference for candidates located in Austin, TX, Denver, CO, or Dallas, TX. This is a 12-month contract role with a tentative start date of July 15, 2024. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in software quality assurance, automation testing, and development, with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
SDET Job Details
As a Senior SDET, you will be responsible for interpreting written requirements and technical specifications to develop software solutions to business problems. You will develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts, analyze and investigate software issues reported by clients, and document your findings. You will also perform maintenance and corrections on software defects identified during the maintenance process. Additionally, you will run unit tests, implement test plans, and document test results. You will be expected to mentor peers and junior SDETs, perform code reviews, and create a culture of following best practices and standards.
SDET Mandatory Skills
- 6-10 years of overall experience in software development and testing
- 3-5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in development, execution, and maintenance of automated test scripts
- Prior technical lead experience providing mentoring, code review, design support, etc.
- Strong proficiency in WebDriverIO and JavaScript or TypeScript
- Hands-on coding experience in Ruby, Java, C#, or any other Object-oriented programming language
- Experience with Selenium WebDriver
- Experience with Agile Development Practices
- Good knowledge of industry-standard tools for logging bugs and managing test cases (e.g., JIRA/MTM, Zephyr/HPQ)
- Hands-on experience with web services virtualization
- Ability to perform code reviews
- Acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) using the Gherkin language like Cucumber, JBehave, SpecFlow
- Understanding of CI/CD practices, lean methodologies
- Experience with Jenkins/Bamboo/GIT
SDET Desired Skills
- Experience with Agile/Lean development and testing practices, including Automated Test Driven Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery
- Experience with web service virtualization, data virtualization, and test data management
- Hands-on experience with browser automation testing tools (e.g., Sauce Labs, Selenium, Protractor, CodedUI)
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server or document-oriented databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Advanced hands-on software development experience and experience with leading automation framework development
- Hands-on experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet)
