SECTION 125 COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for providing phone and email support to Insperity clients on behalf of Section 125 team. Analyzes data submitted by clients for both the cafeteria plan and 401(k) plan nondiscrimination testing to ensure compliance with IRC rules and regulations regarding nondiscrimination testing for both plans and collaborates with analysts through annual nondiscrimination testing cycle.

• Responds to client calls and email inquiries regarding Controlled Group setup and change in tax status, benefit classing, eligibility and nondiscrimination testing results.

• Walks clients through how to complete the nondiscrimination questionnaire.

• Monitors and manages the Section 125 group email inboxes and voice mailbox, escalating as needed.

• Reviews and processes questionnaires and follows up with clients with questions when needed.

• Participates in annual nondiscrimination testing and controlled group analysis processes.

• Prepares and delivers results communications for email/print distribution to clients, worksite employees and internal service providers.

• Performs regular audits on existing eligibility data and testing elements.

• Maintains contact lists database and provides to different departments. Prepares reports related to annual non-discrimination testing.

• Conducts client call campaigns and assists with special projects that require problem solving and organizational skills.

• Collaborates with other departments across the organization.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.

• Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.

• Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.

• Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

• Three or more years in benefits, retirement plans, accounting, or tax experience required. PEO experience is preferred.

• Experience in team dynamics is preferred.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

Certified Cafeteria Plan Administrator, CPC (Certified Pension Consultant), QPA (Qualified Pension Administrator), QKA (Qualified 401k Administrator), or CEBS is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

• Ability to examine and analyze data, researching independently when needed to identify gaps.

• Comfortable speaking with people on various corporate levels, such as small business owners, CFOs, and tax advisors.

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.

• Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.

• Familiar with Microsoft Office Products, specifically Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and Access.

• Working knowledge of qualified plans, including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and relevant regulations preferred.

• Attention to detail and organizational and planning skills. Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task.
